A New Venue for Voices from Across the Word Universe

dirtcakes will be taking part in the inaugural Big Orange Book Festival, Sept. 21-22, 2012 at Chapman University in Orange California.

Titled From Steampunk to Poetry in 2 Days, the event features vendors from the literary world and an array of authors, essayists, poets, play & screenwriters.

A fraction of the participants includes The Daily Show co-creator and former head writer Lizz Winstead, long time LA poet Wanda Coleman, other southern California poets Allison Benis White and dirtcakes contributor Karen An-hwei Lee, OC Weekly editor Gustavo Arellano, former speechwriter for Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and non-fiction writer Tom Zoellner, friends and Steampunk aficionados James Blaylock & Tim Powers, and dirtcakes poetry editor, yours truly.

The event will include individual readings, panels, exhibits, and a local  focus with an as-yet-unannounced set of southern California writers reading at every hour.
