A little more from “School Me”

March 15, 2011

Untitled by "awnisALAN"

Gail Grivnau chews on my pencil

I run my fingers over
Her incisor marks
Still moist with sexy saliva
Her wanton mouth
Her worldly Minneapolis ways
Left on my yellow number 2

I am dreaming
Of her in the backseat
Of my Mom’s Chevy Malibu
When out of the blue
Mr. Watkins shouts
Pencils down everyone
The test done.

— Gary Bloom

Gary Bloom lives in Pass Christian, Missippi.  When asked which book has shaped him as a writer: “The book that I carry is Where Water Comes Together With Other Water, a book of poems by Raymond Carver.  This book continues to inspire me along with all of Carver’s poems and stories.”
