2 Idiots + 1 Constantine + 1 McKibben = Amazing Spoken Word
Tonight promises a brilliant night of stand up and spoken word poetry at the infamous Ugly Mug in downtown Orange, next to Chapman University.
Two Idiots Peddling Poetry is bringing Brendan Constantine & Rachel McKibbenstogether to headline their weekly open mic tonight.
I can personally attest to Brendan’s mesmerizing energy and verbal chutzpah. His current Birthday Girl With Possum (Write Bloody2011) is one of my
favorites: Cohesive, creative, & well-crafted, poems appear in Ploughshares, FIELD, Ninth Letter. His upcoming Calamity Jane from Red Hen, his 2ndfrom that press, I’m sure will impress.
While I have not seen Rachel McKibbens perform, many others have. The New Yorker is 2009 Women of the World Poetry Slam Champion, an eight-time National Poetry Slam (NPS) team member, & a three-time NPS finalist. Her current book is Pink Elephant (Cypher Books, 2009).
